Ben Fry, co-creator of Processing, announced today that he has a new company, Fathom. Along with Teri Schindler, Chris Brown, and Lynn Kiang, the group will focus on data visualization. “Fathom Information Design helps clients understand complex data through information graphics, interactive tools, and software for the installations, the web and mobile devices,” the website states.

Lots of cool stuff going on at Ted this year. Siftables, however, have been the best thing I’ve seen so far. Presented by MIT grad student David Merrill, these bad boys are part of the ever growing evolution of digital technology that will lead to bigger and better and cooler.
